She was a past member of Xi Alpha Delta, a local chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and a former officer of P.E.O., a cultural organization. Pat loved sewing, crocheting and making ceramics to decorate her home and give as gifts. In 1998, Pat received the distinguished honor of being awarded "Mother of the Year" by the American Mothers Inc., Nevada Association. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Lewis Swartz and Patty Victoria Masterson Swartz; her brother, Walter Lawrence Swartz; grandson, Michael Howard Avance; and great-grandson, Declan Donald Peattie. Bill Marsh (1952)

Boyd, Myrna and I send you our love and fond thoughts of both you and Pat. Her father was also a good friend of mine in school and my mentor during my summer job at" three kids mine". Hope you are well and will continue to be close to all your family. Do you still have the lovely family home at Panaca? Best Wishes, Myrna and Bill Marsh.
