U.S. Veteran Dwight Earnest Tarter, age 74, life time resident of Boulder City, Nevada passed away on August 21, 2012. He was born in Boulder City on July 24, 1938 to Lester Ernest Tarter and Ruth Iowa Harmers Tarter. Dwight enlisted in the United States Navy. After his service he returned to Boulder City. One of Dwight’s favorite places was Lake Mead and spent his working hours and his recreational time out there. As a young man he ran supplies and equipment to the Casino’s boats for work. He was an avid scuba diver and owned Neptune Divers. Water skiing was another thing he was great at. He competed in the 50 and 75 mile races. He also enjoyed swimming, hunting, and fishing. He was very good with his hands and worked on boat engines and was at one time a sales agent for Schida Boats.


Dwight is survived by his wife Galina Tarter of Boulder City; a nephew Eric Tarter and niece Kim Tarter. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother Richard Tarter; two nephews Richard and Dustin Tarter. Memorial service will be held on September 11, 2012 at 11:20 am at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family invites you to sign an online memorial guestbook at
